She and her son Jasen are business partners and opened Star Properties Real Estate in 1993. Marilyn has been a top selling agent and has received numerous plaques in the South Texas region throughout her years in real estate. Reading is a pastime and she considers herself a gourmet cook. She loves sharing recipes with her friends and customers. Marilyn, when in a creative mood, likes to get out her water colors and paint. The walls of her office display many of her paintings.

Janie has many years of experience in sales/customer service/accounting in the Construction Industry. Prior to becoming a Realtor, she worked over ten years with Alonzo Cantu Construction, a very prominent local builder; and later as Credit Manager for a nationwide retailer in building materials.
Janie is fluently bilingual in English and Spanish, growing up in both the US and Mexico. She has lived most of her adult life in McAllen (GO BULLDOGS!!), but also had the opportunity to live in beautiful Vail, Colorado for several years, where she raised her three daughters. After graduating high school in 2019 I moved to College Station, TX to continue my education at Texas A&M University. While I was there I majored in Agribusiness with a minor in Leadership in Construction Science. And after graduating in 2022 I moved back to my hometown of McAllen to join the family business, Star Properties Real Estate. Since joining the Star Properties team in 2023 I moved into doing drone photography while also working full time on sales and property management.
